Canada Safety Council Professional Improvement Driver Course
(Theory 4 hours)
Up to 10 students can be accommodated in each 4 hour classroom session. This portion of the program will provide participants with the specialized knowledge they need to learn core defensive driving principles.
The course theory is broken up into five main sections as summarized below:
A Positive Approach:
- The Professional Driver
- Defensive driving and preventing collisions
- Standard Accident prevention formula
- Categories of driving conditions and key defenses
- Attitude and Perceptions
- Pre-trip mental inventory
The Road and Road Users:
- Other road users
- Safe passing and possible collisions
- Right of way regulations
- Turning and four point plan for safety
(Practical 1 hour)
10 students can be accommodated at one time. One on one student instruction with our certified trainer is provided. Personal vehicle will be used in the session. A custom program can be designed for larger groups such as companies with multiple employees upon request.
The In-Car-Coaching sessions will allow each participant the opportunity to apply the techniques learned during the Defensive Driving theory Program in real world conditions. Application of the tactics with the benefit of in-car-coaching and feedback will greatly improve driving performance. The in-car coaching sessions are available to those participants who have successfully completed the Defensive Driving Program.
Total Cost: $500
**All students of O’Brien Training will be registered into our recruitment database through Core Recruitment. Each course includes in house consultation with one of our Recruiters at Core Recruitment where students will be assisted with career development services to increase the probability of successful employment. This service is continuous upon completion of all courses and included in program costs - a value of $2500.
